Only watch Argentina at international tournaments and a few Copa games here and there tbf. But Messi has been playing for ARG since 2005 and his entire career needs to be considered. If you watched him only at international level, you wouldnt say he was one of the best of all time would you?

Messi hasn't played in our league but do you honestly believe he'd struggle?

Ronaldo's biggest problem for club and country is that was often invisible in the big games. He's starting to turn that around but he's still not what I'd call a big game player

2002 - 10 games, 3 goals
2004 - 13 games, 3 goals
2006 - 16 games, 8 goals
2008 - 11 games, 4 goals
2010 - 6 games, 0 goals

Total: 56 games, 18 goals. Does that look like the record of a world class striker? If that was halved it'd be 9 goals in just under 30 apps which is slightly less than a league season. World class strikers should be scoring more than 9 goals a season.

WC2010, WC2010, euro2008 were an absolutely omni-shambles from France as a whole. Not a great way to judge him really, he had plenty of top performances for France. Vs Brazil in the 2006 QF or in the SF vs Portugal in 2000 for instance.
