Hope revision is going well for everyone  Does anyone know if they can ask you to define any terms? Will the C1 exam be very different this year?

I don't think they can ask that. Or at least I've never seen it anyway. I think they can ask how you came to the answer though

How is everyone revising for this and all maths exams? Is the key just past papers for practise?

Yeah practice is key. Get used to all the different types of questions. Try the last questions in review/mixed exercises in the book too.

Do all the past papers from Edexcel, do the Solomon papers, do all the mixed and review exercises in the textbook, do papers from other boards especially AQA and OCR/MEI, do the Gold papers, do the 'very hard' papers posted in this sub-forum.

You should really aim to get 100 UMS.

Since I've done a whole days work of Maths C1 Past Paper Questions, I thought I'd make a thread for everyone else to post about how they're finding Edexcel Maths C1 considering there aren't many.

It seems that the Edexcel Maths papers are turbulently increasing in difficulty every year (probably because more people are getting high grades). Last years C1 papers were the hardest I'd ever done. In fact the very last question of the D1 June 2014 paper was quite possibly the hardest question Edexcel have ever asked. Practically no one in the whole country who sat that paper got it right because it was so outlandish.

I've had to as a result resort to the solomon papers for C1, which are very challenging. Challenges which could make an appearance this year and the years to come.

Graph transformations sometimes throws me off.
Sequences and series can be annoying too

Yeah, the papers do become increasingly more difficult every year.

I don't particularly like drawing graphs as I almost always mess up the scale. Sequences and series are alright for me other than those questions where you have to work out what n is. For me it's constantly making slips on coordinate geometry.
this course is easy, how can you all be struggling with it?

This comment is a bit ignorant, everyone struggles at some point. Just because you understand something doesnt mean others will.

Anyway, I am feeling kind of confident with this exam, but it is the same day as my history exam :frown:

just do solomon papers, there won't be any questions in the actual exam harder than those
I am reasonably good at C1 and C2 (more C2 than C1). Last year's June 2014 C1 paper was relatively straightforward in my opinion, but June 2012 was a PAIN xD.

I just hope that I won't get p0wned on Wednesday hahaha! Good luck to everyone  WORK HARD!!

no other way for revising maths xD Well u can practice example questions from the book.

I do lots and lots of past papers from all the years as they follow similar layout. Then do Solomon papers which are of a harder level.

I haven't started AS revision yet due to coursework. I will start revision for C1 and C2 on Sunday hopefully. I am an A2 student retaking C1 and C2. I had a low A last year.
