AS and A2 Level Mathematics Revision VIdeo's and Resources

Hi

I have started creating AS and A2 Maths revision videos. I will be covering C1, C2, C3, C4, S1 and S2

Please feel free to request a topic and I will try to put it up as quickly as I can (usually 1-2 days).

My C1 - Discriminant video is up now to the students that requested it: https://youtu.be/C_tfqFudvdY

(Please note: I don't talk in the videos as I hate the sound of my own voice! There is music in the background of the video, so if you are easily distracted, you can turn it down/mute it)

How do I solve a transformation for example when a particular line is given for example y=3 or x=5? I know that f(x) reflected in the y axis is simply y=f(-x) and in the x axis y=-f(x) so the line y=x^2 reflected in the x axis would give -x^2. But if the question is reflect the line y=x^2 over the line y=1 how do I solve this? I have been trying to figure it out and understand but have had no luck. I know the answer but it would be great if someone can help me understand and show me a easy method for the solution. Can you help me with this?

Thank you! It would be awesome if u can also have examples of reflection in the x axis and y axis, for example reflection in the line x=5 and y=2. Cheers

I really like your handwriting and style!

Just a few things:

1. A discriminant doesn't reveal what type of roots an equation has, it sheds information on the nature/type of roots a polynomial does.
2. You haven't explain why the different signs of the quadratic discriminant lead to the different scenarios for the roots.
Can you please make D1 videos?

If she can't, I could make a few? Again there won't be speech, partially cause my mic blew up on me and I haven't got round to replacing it yet.
