Timescale for training contract with GDL, LPC sponsorship

This is a pretty basic question but it's really not clear to me! If applying for a training contract with GDL and LPC sponsorship for a non-law graduate starting in 2018, is it the traineeship that starts in 2018 or the GDL and LPC study?
