AQA - How to remember colours for flame test

Lithium = crimson
(a CRIMSON LIpstick (lipstick for lithium)

Sodium = yellow
(sodium sounds like 'so damn' --> SO DAMN LOUD --> yellow is a loud colour)

Potassium = lilac
(You put LILAC flowers in flower POTs)

Calcium = red
(CALum Scott is hot --> hot connotes red)

Barium = green
(Barium sounds like bear --> bears live in forests --> forests are green)

This double mnemonic is pretty cool too.

All of this you can choose to write with or without the words with t, which all mean nothing:

Criminals Lie, Yet No-one, Links Killers, Respect Or Case, Given (their) Curiosity

= Crimson - Li

= Yellow - Na

= Lilac - K

= Red-Orange - Ca

= Green = Cu

The Liar (lithium-red) says NaY! (sodium-yellow) I didn't KilL (potassium-lilac) your CorGi (copper-green). It was hit by a CaR (calcium-red) and left in a BaG (barium-green).I like = 1 pray

All you need to do is start at the top of group 1 on the periodic table and work down and across the periods for each of these elements;
Li red
Na yellow
K lilac

Cs violet
Ca orange

Cu blue
