what are some problems that can occur when preparing sodium chloride ( titration of sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid ) and how will they affect the yield and purity ???
If you don't exactly neutralise then you will have an excess of the acid or the alkali, and this will effect purity. However, if you use an indicator to help you get the endpoint spot on, then your indicator will be the impurity.

It's and odd way to prepare NaCl.
Thank you, whats a better way to prepare NaCl then?
In your titration you could use a pH meter to determine when you reach exact neutralisation. This would avoid adding an impurity (such as the indicator) whilst ensuring you have minimal excess acid or alkali.
