Because 72 is the total, you need to divide the frequency by the total to work out the %.

You don;t need % as said above.

You need to find the fraction of the circle which is for perch 10/72; 72 is the total number of fish.

Then to find the angle we need to find that fraction of 360 [total angle in a circle] so (10/72) x 360 for perch

For example, if carp = 36 then 36÷72=0.50 or 50%. Now if you multiply this by the number of degrees in a circle 360 this tells you the portion of the pie chart this takes (180).
So what is the angle of a full circle 360 degrees right.
So 360/72=Degree each frequency would have which is 5
hece 5 * Frequency=Angle
hope it makes sense sorry for being slow

Sorry if my answer was misleading, I was just trying to point out that when dividing the frequency by the total this gives the % as was I believe was clarified in my next post.
Once again sorry for any misunderstanding.

You are given that 12 is represented by 90 degrees - a quarter of the circle. Which bit don't you get?

The strawberry and chocolate bits

Whole circle represent 12 x 4 = 48. ...chocolate is 120 degrees which is ....

Strawberry 14/48 is the fraction, can you finish it from there?

why does the whole circle represent 48??? and i still don't get it sorry if I'm annoying you I'm just dumb:frown:
The total angle of a circle is 360.
To calculate the angle for strawberry 360-120(choclate)-45(mint)-90(vanila)=Strawbery angle
In this question i would use ratios
If 12 people have an angle of 90
how much would 6?
12:90
x :45
then you crossmultipy or somthing im sure you can do it from there
90x=12*45
x=6

We know a quarter is 12 from the first entry so the whole 'lot' is 12 x 4 = 48

I said that above .. 120/360 is .... so we need that fraction of 48. Sorry I need to go out now.

how would you work out chocolate??

so for choclate we dont know the angle i wil cal it C
again you work with ratios

remember 12 children is degrees
angle:children
90:12
angle of choclate is 120
120:C
90:12
Cross multiply

Please edit you post as full solutions are NOT allowed. Please also don;t advocate 'cross multiplying - it is a very bad habit.
