I’d imagine that if you want to do computing, then computer science A level is going to be your best bet. I studied A Level physics and can firmly say that for an engineer or even a mathematician it helps show one’s ability to solve ‘real world’, physical problems. But for someone who wants to go into computing all you’re really using it for is to show that you can think logically and do moderately difficult maths (maths and further maths already show this, and then some). Computer science (a subject I will openly confess to having no affinity for) meanwhile, is showing that you can solve the more abstract problems presented by computer software and produce a functioning end project for your coursework component (if you have one). I think these skills are going to be much closer to what Imperial are looking for.
