SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME THE FUNCTION OF rRNA?

Does it play a role in the formation of the protein subunits which make up a ribosome?
The first section of this piece gives a simple answer. rRNA doesn't code for any proteins itself, but has a structural and catalytic function in the synthesis of proteins, which are coded for by the mRNA that is brought to the ribosome.

So they help catalyses the formation of peptide bonds as well as help form the ribosomes?
