No - if you got the genre wrong, they would carry forward the error and you would only lose 1 mark on that question.

so i could have said bhangra and given features of bhangra? and still only have lost 1 mark? lol yayyyy
Reply 11
Lol, really??

I never knew that :s-smilie:

I think everyone makes a mistake then they'll have to change it. But anyway speak about it tomorrow!
hey!
my teacher taught me the wrong syllabus!
Not the revised one. I don't think he knew it changed.
I didnt join here until yesterday so I didnt know the syllabus had changed either.
Is there anything I can do at this point?
Reply 13
so its 4 am now? can we discuss it yet?? *almost bursting* lol
Reply 14
Lol yeh we can definitely discuss it now!, I found the exam very strange.

I was so usure about question 1 from A OS2 ... 19 marks for what you thought the genre was etc!

I put minimalim, but a lot of my mates got different answers :s-smilie:

Come on music students! Also i swear i don't know the difference between major and minor in that test, but it came up all the time!

Though the musical dictation was ok!!!

Don't worry - I put Minimalism and my teacher siad that right. Overall, I thought the test was pretty hard. OK a few of my worries now...

AoS 1:

The instrument was a bassoon - playing a chaconne?
Was the cadence imperfect
Time sig - 4/4?
Was it Classical - Mozzart?

Was the voice soprano ( alot of my friends said alto)
Was the composer Purcell
Was it cello and harpsichord?

AoS 2:
Minimalism

How did you describe the instrument - I saiid string-like and shimmery

AoS 3:
Pitch i got BBABAG

For other piece i said club dance music
just listed all the effects i knew - couldn't hear them all

AoS 4:
siad it was the alap
sitar and tambura were playing (teacher said sarangi though)

African singing question was hard - call and response, iscimathiya, sung in harmonies??

said it was fusion of western classical (flute, violin)
and indian raga (sitar, tabla)

Any reassurance would be very nice!!
Think I got around the 80% mark. Is A* coursework and A listening test A* overall??

Thanks

ahh i put expressionism, not minimalism, and then did all the features, composers etc for expressionism, does that mean ive lost like 10 marks now from that question :s-smilie:?!!
and yeahh some of it was weirddd, some of it was okay though!! you know the britpop thing, was the bar we had to write just a repeat of the one before??

xx
