MA Linguistics in the Netherlands - UvA and Radboud

Hey everyone,

I’m applying for UvA and Radboud for general linguistics, no news back yet as I assume the virus is slowing things down a little. I was wondering if anyone had opinions on the two and which they would recommend? UvA is very highly rated but so is Nijmegen for Linguistics, I was wondering how people found the student experience at either of these courses e.g. tutors, seminars and general experiences. I’m aware that the Netherlands is much more independent in terms of student learning but was wondering if anyone could share any personal experiences of the two.

The two seem pretty different (UvA more theoretical linguistics orientated and Radboud more of a blend from what I can see) so I’m wondering what factored into other people’s decisions when they chose university in the Netherlands.

I grew up in the Netherlands so I’m familiar with the culture but not the higher education system as I went abroad and have not been back for 10 years.
