Does anyone know when Freshfields tend to send out WGT invites for direct TC apps that pass initial screening?
Hi, I'm looking for some advice. I would love to be a family lawyer however I am worried about applying to specialist family law firms for a TC. While it would be amazing for the experience I am concerned it could pigeon hole me. On the other hand, a TC at a firm with more departments could mean that I am not able to complete a seat in family law.

Does anyone have any experience of this, and any advice?

Thank you

I have no real experience of this issue I'm afraid, but I wondered if you'd come across Irwin Mitchell? It is a large national firm which offers two 'streams' of TC. One is personal legal services, which includes family law and other seats such as court of protection, trusts and estates, wills, medical negligence, serious injury etc.
PFO from Weightmans (though this was for 2022 as they are doing the SQE and not the LPC route).
RPC Bristol TC offer!!!!

That’s very true! Just a basic run-through of the STAR method would suffice in that case.

Can you please remind me what the STAR method is?

Situation - The context (e.g. pro bono secretary)
Task - What you had to do (e.g. organise a pro bono event)
Action - What you did to complete the task (e.g. organised a venue, social media advertising, sold tickets, etc.)
Result - What the outcome was (e.g. raised £1,000 and had a great event)
Just wanted to say I've been trying for years and just found out I finally got a TC. Don't give up if it's something you really want. There will be a way.

Congratulations!

Might I ask what kind of route during the years you took to get your TC? I ask because I'm currently paralegaling and considering my qualifying options.
Hey Guys,

I'm starting to prepare for my applications for DLA Piper, Browne Jacobson and Eversheds Sutherland.

I feel more confident & organised from the experiences I gained last cycle. I was told about getinlaw.com towards the end of the last cycle by peers that secured TCs which really helped my commercial awareness and application reviews, so I'm using them now from the start (@getinlaw on Instagram). I also think Lex100 and LegalCheek are really useful for anyone else. Anyone else want to share alternative platforms?

Thanks and good luck to all!

Kind of weird you were told about getinlaw for the first time at the end of last cycle considering you were plugging it on here three years ago....

The wording was copied verbatim mate. Why the lies?
Anybody else defer their TC offer from last year?

Listen Mr/Miss soon to be 42 years old and still sat on TSR. It was a genuine message, where I drew my inspiration for the draft is irrelevant.
Assuming my age from my username only makes you look a bit dim.

I'm already a trainee lol literally in the office right now. Don't throw stones in glass houses.
I'm sorry that me mentioning my job has somehow offended you. For obvious reasons, I'm not going to stop doing that.
