Range of a Function OCR ALevel

The image here is going to be the set of values from the minimum value f returns for values of x from 1 to 4 ...which is -9 (achieved when x = 3/2)
to the maximum value f returns for values of x from 1 to 4 ...which is 16 (achieved when x = 4).

Please can you put this into alevel terms?

Which would mean the y values refer to the range and then the x values refer to the domain?

To find the range would I solve the equation and sub the lower and upper value?

Yeah, but do be aware they probably can give you some wacky function drawn out for you, if not put the graph into a graphing calc and you can see if it has asymptotes etc.
