In the city

I often see people talking about moving to the city to make money after graduation before they enter their real career.... well how do they do this, how do people make money in the city?

i just spent a year in london. i had really cheap rent and quite good pay for what i was doing but the money just disappeared. london is expensive in every way. i didnt even do that many exciting things - i expected to save about £9thou but ended up with £4thou.

if you live further out to save on rent, you pay a load on travel. oyster cards are only cheap if you travel in the centre. having said that, there are free events all over (the southbank is awesome) and ive been away for just a week and i miss it sooo much!
