Hi, I am in the vetting process after receiving a conditional offer for the Communications post with the Met. I am trying to find out what the shift times are so I can plan my travel. Can anyone help? Many thanks Sarah

Hey! I’m also currently in the vetting process I received an email a few days ago to say they’ve started my vetting - how long did your vetting take?

You'll go into first contact first (answering 999/101 calls) after training. It's mainly 12 hour shifts - Either 0700-1900, 1100-2300, 1500-0300, 1900-0700. There are occasional 8hr shifts chucked in to balance out your hours.

If you decide to progress and move on to despatch (radio, managing units and incidents) its's either 0630-1830, 1830-0630. Again there are a few 8hr shifts to balance hours which are either 0700-1500/1100-1900/2300-0700.

It's only CTC vetting for this role - for me, it was about 4 weeks.

I was offered the job just over a month ago and had an email just under 2 weeks ago saying they have started my vetting - did your vetting take 4 weeks from when they said they have started it?

Could anyone advise me on how many wpm the typing test must be? Also, what was the communications skills stage like and what were the interview questions for the final stage? Thanks!
