are cone and cockpit karst the same? I can't seem to find a definitive answer

They are quite similar but are slightly different. Cockpit karst is the beginning of the development of karst, whereby underground caves have collapsed, leaving hummocky valleys behind, interspersed by limestone hills. Cone karst is much more common and typically is vegetated naturally because it consists of smoother, flattish hills (occasionally more cone like).
