Why do universities not accept A level General Studies?

title.
Do you know of any exam boards that still offer it?
General Studies was demised as a subject in the UK a few years ago. I am not sure whether it is still available elsewhere.

The short answer is that it was rubbish. Uni's want 3 academic subjects as preparation for Higher Education. For general studies I can remember doing cryptic crosswords and looking under the bonnet of a car. Insightful stuff.

A 2013 specification just means they left the document available not that they offer it as a qualification to sit now

These are the OCR A level subjects available https://www.ocr.org.uk/qualifications/as-and-a-level/

I did general studies in the 90's. I got an ungraded, I was forced to do it and really could not be bothered, it was such a waste of time.

The final assessment opportunity for AS and A Level General Studies (H079/H479) was in Summer 2018, with resit opportunities in Summer 2019
