Is University of Liverpool a good uni?

I’m thinking of studying either Computer Science or Engineering and I live in Liverpool. I’m wondering if it would be better for me to study at Liverpool or to study at University of Sheffield or UCL etc, as they have similar entry requirements.

I glad to see that you are considering studying at the University of Liverpool!

So there are many factors to what makes a 'good' University. You can go by some statistics such as employability rates, student satisfaction etc., however I think that what makes a 'good' University is ultimately personal. You should take a look at the module on offer at these different universities, and take a look at what topics and research each specialise in. Another key factor is thinking about where you would like to live, for example your experience of living and studying in London is likely to be very different from a smaller Northern city such as Liverpool or Sheffield.
