Find the Student Society for You at Kingston University!

It's one of the most anticipated aspects of student life: whether it's finding 'your' people or discovering a new sport, societies can transform your time at university and develop your hobbies and passions into something more. From campaigning for social change, watching classic films or sharing cultural and ethnic heritage, KU societies do it all - so here's a quick look at some of them!

KU Disabled Students Society
The KU Disabled Students Society aims to create a safe and relaxed environment for any students with disabilities, regardless of whether it's physical, emotional, or neurodiverse. Share experiences with one another through monthly chats, get tips on applying to DSA, and help work towards making KU more accessible to all.

KU Bible Reading Club
Are you a believer in Christ, looking to establish a community with fellow believers whilst you're away at university? Why not try the KU Bible Reading Club, who regularly come together for Bible study sessions, group prayer and various other activities?

KU Filipino Society
Whether you identify as Filipino ethnically, have Filipino family ties or simply have an interest in the culture and traditions of the Philippines as a whole, the Filipino Society welcomes everyone. Through a range of social events, charity work and shared meals, KU's Filipino Society can help you foster lifelong connections and create a community that extends far beyond your university course!

KU Midwifery Society
KU MidSoc is an academic society created by students for students, highlighting important issues within the field of Midwifery that may fall outside of or go beyond the university curriculum. With events that range from workshops and guest speaker lectures to pub crawls and socials, KU MidSoc is a fantastic option for any student interested in midwifery or caring for mothers/birthing people.

Kingston Film Society
If you love films (or just enjoy the occasional trip to the cinema!), this is definitely the society for you. Kingston Film Society screens and discusses a film weekly, with genres ranging from art-house, contemporary, world cinema and traditional classics.

If you're interested in joining any of these societies - or any of the dozens more available - log into the Union of Kingston Students website today and sign up: https://www.kingstonstudents.net/

Once your place is confirmed, you'll be sent an email welcoming you into the society and informing you of any upcoming society events, so as always, make sure to keep an eye on your inbox.

Hope this was helpful - and if you have any questions, drop them down below!

- Eve (Kingston Rep).
