Kingston University's English for Academic and Professional Development (EAPD) team offer a range of English as a foreign language courses for students. A team of experienced English language tutors and lecturers provide English language programmes for a range of purposes i.e. General, academic, foundational, professional

Kingston Language Scheme English

This course is designed for students who English is not their first language. The focus is on general English language and skills. It is good for people who want to improve their English for a couple of hours weekly, meet international students and have fun practicing and developing confidence in using English

This course aims to:

Develop your general English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills

Build your general English vocabulary and knowledge of how to use English grammar accurately

Help you meet other international peers, enhance your intercultural and communication skills and have fun through working on tasks on a range of interesting topics

Provide you with regular practice, frequent feedback and assessments in all skills

Kingston University students: Get points towards your Kingston Award and Higher Educational Achievement Report (HEAR)



For Erasmus and Study Abroad students, this module can be taken for credit.

Online Pre-sessional English

This course is designed for international students who wish to improve their English before starting their degree.

Taking a Pre-sessional course will help you meet the English language entry requirements for your chosen university degree. Improving your English language skills will also enable you to do well in your studies, giving you a better chance to succeed.

Kingston's Online Pre-sessional students are:
