Which elements form giant covalent structures as oppose to simple molecular structures or metallic structures?
General elements are hydrogen, oxygen, carbon and nitrogen, but it depends on the elements they are connected with in a bond. For a covalent bond (and structure) they need approximately the same electronegativity to create an area in which common electrons are shared with each other.
