Biblical Hebrew Pearson GCSE

Hi all
I am an independent learner wanting to do the Biblical Hebrew gcse - but I don’t know where to start. I can’t find any resources specific to the GCSE nor can I find copies of the set texts .
Does any one have any recommendations for online courses or books that will guide me through everything I need for the gcse step by step?

I’m concerned if I get a random book it will go into lots of detail I don’t need, or not enough detail on what I do need
Thanks

I'm an independent learner too and have been looking at doing a Biblical Hebrew gcse.
The Edexcel GCSE spec is here:

https://qualifications.pearson.com/en/qualifications/edexcel-gcses/biblical-hebrew-2018.coursematerials.html#filterQuery=Pearson-UK:Category%2FSpecification-and-sample-assessments

and there are links there to resources. I'm considering whether to go for it or not. Let me know what you decide. Maybe we can encourage each other.

Regarding the set texts, in addition to the [rather unhelpful looking] references given on the Edexcel site, I have found the interlinear hebrew/english text in the biblehub very useful (https://biblehub.com/interlinear/genesis/40.htm).

Thanks this is very useful!

I’ve found the edexcel page of resources really bad - it has no information. I have struggled to find a decent text book to help 😭

I still want to do it and so am happy to discuss concepts and for encouragement!!!

Try Tutors and Exams - they have a number of centres around the UK and can do most subjects. If it’s missing just contact them as they do all other GCSEs

I've sort of decided to do the exam in 2026 (ie. giving myself 2 years to cover the material). I know what passages will be tested then and can prepare properly.

Independent Schools are usually best (as they like to facilitate this as part of showing that they perform a 'public service')

That’s exactly what I’m thinking too. I think it looks too hard to do in a year and I think the texts last 3 years so we’ve got a buffer of another year if we need it

I’ve been looking on the Jcq website - it’s really good as you can filter by exam board and subject to find a venue. The website is below and this might help find something local to you
