Edexcel vs AQA (Physics)

Which one is more similar to OCR B Physics? I'm taking OCR B Physics and I can't find enough resources for its topics. Only Edexcel and AQA show up. If I were to choose resources from Edexcel or AQA, which one should I choose?

Probably a little too late, but I’d generally
recommend avoiding OCR B like the plague - it’s easily the worst physics course you can take at A level. Having done it myself (I sat exams in 2022), I remember there being no good resources for it and the stupid advance notice article thing you are required to study for paper 2 was utterly useless.

Unless the sixth form doing OCR B has a generally good record for your subjects, I’d probably go to the one that offers Edexcel physics.

not too late at all. i have until end of august to decide im pretty sure. but ye i too couldn't find even people going through ocr b stuff on youtube to see how it was like. i did have a look though on pmt and the course doesn't look too enjoyable either. i much prefer the theoretical stuff rather than the practical side of things in physics. ive also heard there is a bigger emphasis on circuits and stuff? (which i hate). if i do end up going there i would probably end up doing further maths instead. i feel like my love for physics is too niche and that if i hate most of it, there's no point in taking it anyway.

You’ll much prefer Edexcel physics to OCR B, then - iirc, they even had a question on whether it was feasible to cook a chicken by slapping it 8000 times (LOL).

If I’m remembering the course correctly, year 1 is very boring for OCR B physics. Yes, circuits are a big topic, but you also have areas like materials science and calculating sizes of things based on how many pixels there are in a picture (imo even more boring topics than circuits) in first year.

I did FM (Edexcel) and really enjoyed it, though. I would recommend giving the relevant specification(s) a look and seeing if the material interests you enough to want to take it instead of physics.

after looking at the FM course, it looks pretty good. to be completely honest, i was a bit dissappointed that complex numbers and matrices werent in normal maths. i used to watch a lot of maths vids back in the day and remember it looking interesting. also with careers i feel like FM will help more with me cus i dont rlly plan to become an engineer, maybe chemical engineer but not mechanical. i feel like smth like software engineering would value FM over physics too? i honestly genuinely wouldnt mind learning a level content for maths early this summer cus its so calm to revise. like a little a day is fun. hopefully when that becomes a lot a day fron FM it still remains that way too
