Computing Degree Entry Requirements

Planning my sons course choices in S5 & S6. He will hopefully complete Nat 4 Maths and Nat 4 English this year (S4) along with Nat 5 Computing , Mod, Business Mgmt and RMPS. In S5 he's looking at Higher Computing, Higher Mods, Higher Business and Nat 5 English and Nat 5 Application of Maths. He'll likely go to an Edinburgh Uni at the end of S6 (we live close to Edinburgh) and it seems some accept Application of Maths in place of Maths and some don't. He can't do Nat 5 Maths this year without sacrificing Higher Computing - a subject he loves and had a great teacher for. So..... Is it a better route to focus on MAths rather than application of Maths or does his intended course choice work for Computer related degrees..... TIA

I had a look on the Napier Computing Science BSc course and it looks like that route would be completely fine. The standard entry requirements for Highers state: BBBB to include Maths or Science/Technical subject. National 5 grade C in Maths, Lifeskills Maths OR Applications of Maths and English.” So continuing with H computing and doing N5 apps is completely fine
