Mary Poppins film age rating raised over 'discriminatory language'

Would almost be comical if it wasn't so bizarre. Rating due to language is one thing but its their justification thats the real kicker here:

'"While Mary Poppins has a historical context, the use of discriminatory language is not condemned, and ultimately exceeds our guidelines for acceptable language at U. We therefore classified the film PG for discriminatory language."'

Simply put, who really cares if an age old film doesn't' condemn' 'naughty' language. I really hate to use the term but it really is political correctness gone mad. Although considering the bizarre that the powers that be are set on, not entirely surprising.

I'm sure it will generate the usual rage bait articles.

However there is no practical difference between U and PG.
Nah it's fine, nothing is being taken away from anyone. it's hardly the blazing crime of cancel culture some are making it out to be.
If they deleted those scenes, people would be more upset. I don't think people will care too much so long as they don't touch anything.
