Hey, i am a year 12 student and just had a few questions regarding the UCAT. - How did you revise for the UCAT? - what is some advice you would give? - When did you start preparing for the UCAT?
Hey there, thanks for posting a question in the Medicine forum.
The Medicine forum gets a high volume of questions being posted, and some of these are already answered by the resources and Megathreads that members of the community and volunteers have created. Hey, My UCAT was in August and i started around 2 months before so sometime in June. I personally think that's definitely enough time, anymore and you'll most likely get burnt out. I'd advice using an actual computer to do your mocks as it most accurately simulates the real environment. Keep a spreadsheet of every practice set that you do and you score - this helps you see what you're strongest at and what you need more work in. The best online resources are medify and medentry and cost about £60 for 2 months i believe. There are some free ones too like the UCAT page. With things like AR and QR practice is really important to help you with your timing. But if you are struggling, medify and medentry have really good videos to explain the basic terms and talk you through why you got things wrong. Good luck!!!
This is an example of my spreadsheet Each of the smaller numbers of for the different sections (VR,QR,DM,AR) I started with a goal for my total score depending on where i wanted to apply. So the scores in red were below my goal and those in green met it. This was a personal decision and it helped me stay focused and disciplined and see how realistic my goal was. Do what's best for you!
