Gas calculations help please

How would you go about doing this question?

1.2g Mg reacts with excess sulphuric acid. Calculate the volume of Hydrogen produced at room temperature and pressure.

1. Write Balanced equation
so...Mg (s) + h2S04 (aq) ----> MgS04(aq) + H2(g)

1.2/24 = 0.05 moles

0.05 x 24 = 1.2dm cubed...is this correct?

Thanks!

yup, you got moles of magnesium

Then moles of hydrogen equivalent from the equation (it's the same, 1:1 ratio)

And then into volume at RTP

so ...... :smile:
