Why doesn't Germany leave the euro?

Why wouldn't they want to if all they seem to be doing is overseeing countries such as Greece being bailed out? What benefits does Germany get from being part of the eurozone?

Why wouldn't they be in the Euro? They get to slowly take control financially of every other country in the EU.

Basically this but, you know. We've beaten them in the air, the trenches, the shores and seas. Be damned if we're going to lose in the banks after all that.

Poor european countries lower the value of euro. Germany exports lots of goods to power their economy. Cheap euro means cheaper German goods hence they are more competitive.

Usually when a country becomes better off through export, their currency value will rise and their goods will be more expensive, and export decreases as a result, but German export is free from this problem.

PS: I don't think Germany cares much about the actual power in Europe. They probably just want the other euro countries to remain poor, have no industries to compete with Germany and most importantly, keep the eurozone intact because the game will be ruined if it collapses.

It gives them a large chunk of power of Europe and as such the World. I'm not entirely sure what they gain from having this power/influence though. If they leave everyone will leave and the whole thing collapses. Then Europe's screwed as no-one has a currency and everyone's running a big debt.

A bit of a tenuous link but high unemployment and little opportunity is a good condition to start a war. Germany tried war twice, and the end result wasn't ideal.

Exactly, so much for European federalism, just another pyramid scheme.
Part of it is Historical, Germany was one of the founding members of the European Union project (of which the single currency is a huge part), to withdraw from the Euro would basically be to condemn as a failure the whole idea of European Unification.

And also, the Eurozone is good for Germany, they are the biggest manufacturer and exporter in Europe so when they export to other Eurozone countires they have the benefit of the Single market, lack of import tariffs etc.

Add to that the political clout Germany has within the Eurozone, again as it's biggest Economy, it can exert huge influence over the financial activities etc. of the other countries, it won't give that up lightly.
A weak currency is great for an export driven economy.

There is no reason for them to leave it, why should they when a weak currency is hugely beneficial to their economy.

Cheap exports which increases wealth... although they are bailing out other countries in reality they are gaining so much that it makes no difference to bail out other countries so long as the Euro stays low for their exports.
Why did germany start ww1 and ww2?
We need to keep Germany in the Euro. If they pull out then the Greeks, Italians, Irish, Spanish and EVEN dare I say it the French will be in a dire situation that would lead to the Euro collapsing, which will lead to additional stress for the US dollar and the UK pound would certainly be in a dangerous position. That plus if the situation with the oil gets worse, we could be facing a global depression. The departure of Germany from the Euro would seal the envelope on that with double-sided Cellotape! Hang in there, Germany, and you will make not only the right decision for you, but for everyone else too. Our economic future is in your hands, Mrs Merkel!

because theyve invested their economy in the euro seeing it collapse would be catastrophic for them ... plus since their economy is heavily export based having a universal currency with their main trading partners greatly benefits them take this as an example ... they sell 300,000 BMWs to france for 300,000,000 francs ... if the franc were to collapse the next day for what ever reason the germans have just lost a spectacular number of very nice cars for pittence ... not helpful for them in the slightest, the forex markets can be evil.
Damn Nat Cees.
Why the Germans leave the euro?
A simple answer from myself:
The euro is an international currency.
The more Europeans keep it the better will be the worth.
Reflect!
What is a currency worth which is not used in whole europe or in a few of one?
Why I pay with a currency which has not a worth?

If the euro fail, it will be one of the greatest falsities in European politic.
Although the debts will be increase and not decrease in the following time, the Germans and the other Europeans standing together to save the euro.
It's quite pointless, isn't it? :eek3::eek3:

I think the Europeans get a currency reform in anytime.
