you do:

18^2=k^2x50 (you basically want to get the scale factor, k)

then rearrange to give 18^2/50=k^2
sqroot 18/50 to give scale factor of 0.6

then,

mass= k^3 x 500
=0.6^3 x 500
=108g
anyone know how many marks approx it will take me to hit a B this time?

thanks in advance

I start the exam in an hour and a half :/ hope it's easier than Tuesday's as I reckon I did really badly in that one. I need at least a C for next years college course. I tend to get more marks on paper 2 than paper 1 though so hopefully it will be ok. Good luck everyone! :smile:

Goodluck everyone! I hope they don't give us a difficult last question like work out the volume of a pyramid....(the formula is area of base x height x 1/3, i just googled it!)

Does anyone have a solutions page like the paper 1 one?

Thread is back on guys! and i'm sure one will be made in the next day or so ^^
Overall, I think I've got between 125-135 marks out of 200. I hope the grade boundaries are decent so I can get my A. Made a few stupid mistakes and on some questions messed up completely but fingers crossed!

I couldnt come close to managing the final 6 marker on the calculator paper! and I ran out of time and dropped an easy 2 marks on the upper/lower bounds question (only managed lower in time)
I got between 172-180. Will this be enough to get an A*?

Yes, definitely.
In comparison to paper one, (which wasn't excessively hard itself) I found the calculator to be almost ridiculously easy. I was very surprised. Strangely enough, the guy in my maths set who is generally regarded the best at maths is adamant that he messed up in paper 2 which is odd as he finished paper 1 30 minutes before the end.
