Massive increase in immigration over double government target

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-26367391

-The net figure was 212,000! which is well over double the 100,000 target the government set up 38%
-The gross figure was 532,000 in one year up 40%
-EU immigration increased to 209,000 up over 40%
-Romanian and Bulgarian immigration also almost tripled before the borders even opened!

Shocking and completely unsustainable

Unsustainable?

Think of this.

The homegrown white population does not produce enough babies to replace the older generation in the workforce and as tax payers.

Government knows this and lets all these "workers" in. Now a fair few do work but how many cause problems regarding the economy? Social ills?

We haven't had a war since WW2 which would spur a growth of birth rates so all we need is a major war but nukes would put a downer on that.

Continuing to use net migration figures, appallingly high as they are, ignores the elephant in the room.

Each year we have 300,000 citizens of UK culture and customs leaving the country and being replaced by over 500,000 citizens of non-UK culture and customs.

The gross cultural displacement is over 800,000 people a year.

You will never hear this discussed by the treacherous Lib/Lab/Con or the BBC.

That's easily sustainable, it represents a net increase in the population of around 0.4% per year. What we need to do is ensure the capital investment takes place to increase capacity such that we can have our metaphorical cake and eat it.

The birth rate is actually back to 1.9 now i believe but it appears to immigrants who are having the babies. I'd of course say that's a good thing since they'll be as educated as any Brit and make it more likely that i'll get a pension in 50 years time.

"A fair few do work"? According to DWP, 16.6% of working age UK nationals claimed benefits in 2012 compared to 6.6% non UK nationals. In addition to that, it's now widely accepted that immigration is of a net benefit to the country e.g an OECD report found that immigrants make a 1.02% net contribution (£16.3b) to economy; the OBR pointed out that if net immigration was reduced to zero public sector debt would rise by £18b over five years.

Social ills? It's much harder to pin down data to support that kind of a claim. Some research suggests that crime levels are lower in areas with high immigration. Reports also indicate that immigrants tend to drink less which, in the long run, will benefit the country in other areas e.g less anti-social behaviour and less of a strain on the NHS (which is made up of 26% foreign born doctors and nearly 40% foreign born nurses, might I add) due to the long-term health risks associated with alcohol consumption. Other than that, I don't see believe that immigration brings many "social ills". I believe it diversifies and integrates communities. My two-best friends in school were westernised Muslims. The only social problem associated with mass immigration is that there are some areas in which immigrants have become too concentrated, to a point where they don't integrate at all. But they are few and far between. For the most part, immigrants are a vibrant part of the community.

It truly is a disaster. Our welfare state now has the look of a ponsi scheme.

I was watching a debate on TV about this a couple of months ago. A couple of people were debating the pros and cons of mass immigration and the person who didn't agree asked who was going to look after all these immigrants when they get older? The other person turned round and said don't worry about it because the immigrants will 'go home' before they get old!?

The level of delusion on this matter is just insane.

But, thats rampant capitalism for you. Short term profits for the few are all that matters. Everyone else can go eat cake.

We have had several wars since WW2.

Overall, net migration increased by about 58,000 (when comparing 2013 to 2012). This is because the number of people entering increased, while the number of people leaving decreased.

When it comes to people entering, this figure rose by 35,000 people (a 6.5% increase from 2012). I wouldn't say that this change is ''massive''.

The statistics show that more people have come into the country to work. Surely this is a good thing?

No, i'm asking you: Why should this 'cultural migration' be discussed? (Or, why do you suggest that it is a problem?)

Why are you so concerned with derailing discussions into meta-discussions about what a word means or why something should be discussed, in particular on subjects germane to the EU?

I will ask again: Are you an EU-Funded Troll? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/eu/9845442/EU-to-set-up-euro-election-troll-patrol-to-tackle-Eurosceptic-surge.html

You have still not answered the question:

''Why should this 'cultural migration' be discussed? (Or, why do you suggest that it is a problem?)''

I'll take your queries to a private conversation (i'm fine with this, i'm sorry if you thought my question was an attempt to derail this thread; it wasn't).

The elephant in the room is that the government can do nothing about migration from EU countries. This is set on a European level and even if they wanted to change it, by law they can`t.

Gross EU immigration (net is lower) was only 209,000 and it's a fair assumption that we'd allow half those people in (when one bears in mind that Germany-France-Spain-Italy have a combined population of 250 million and produce mostly skilled immigrants to the UK) even if outside of the EU.

My biggest concern is actually asylum seekers. It's nice that we are kind enough to let them in but the truth is there are stable countries much closer and these people are often less skilled and/or even able to communicate in English.
I'm sick of talking about this; in the past I've worried but now I just don't care anymore. Until it's actually effecting me, I'm not gonna bitch. I can't get a part time job but that's more likely because my hours are limited due to sixth form.
