Journalism Course at Lincoln

At the moment I am in the process of looking at university course ready to start my UCAS in September. I'm considering studying journalism at Lincoln as I like the city and got a good impression of the University and course on the open days I've been to. However I've heard most people only go there as their second choice. does this reflect the quality of the university? For those who are studying journalism at Lincoln is it a good course?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Just bumping this in the hopes that someone will see it

If you like the city and you got a good impression of the university, then that's what counts really  You need to chose somewhere where you think you'll be happy! Where else are you applying to?

Hi there,

I studied Journalism at Lincoln and it's absolutely brilliant the tutors are some of the most supportive people you will ever meet!
I really don't understand why Lincoln sometimes only gets seen as a back up plan, the students work so hard and most of the Journalism graduates I know have gone on to some amazing jobs including a journalist for The Times, BBC News and Radio producers and presenters, editors and the PR chief for the Red Arrows!

What are you hoping to specialise in? Lincoln's amazing for broadcast journalism and the facilities for Radio and Television are pretty good!

Hope this helps

For Journalism I'm thinking of applying to Staffordshire, Worcester and De Montfort. However I may choose a different pathway and study English and Politics instead

Thanks for your reply. I am thinking of specialising in broadcast journalism so this sounds good for me:smile:

If you don't mind me asking could you elaborate on some things e.g. why did you choose journalism instead of a "traditional" degree, why you choose Lincoln, the interview process

Some answers would really help!

You've still got time to make up your mind, so don't rush! Whatever you decide I'm sure you'll really enjoy, though.

You should also have a look at the connect pages which can help you get in touch with other students applying for (or who have already got onto) the same courses as you - it's a really useful tool, so I'd recommend checking it out!
