Could 72 have got me 100UMS?
Original post by Hellohello1237
trapezium mate

trapezium = 54

54 - 108/5 = 162/5 or 32.4

Yes I got that!!!

Can you explain 5.c) ? (It's really bugging me)

y = (x+3/2)^2 [2 4]
y = (x-2 +3/2)^2 -¼+4
y = (x-½)^2-¼+4
y = x^2 -x +4
y = x^2 - x + 4

Anyone have any idea was 100UMS is going to be for this?

Judging by last years 74/75, and the difficulty of part ai of the cylinder question, i'd say around 72

Yeah I'm sure this is what I got but people I asked said they got 108/5 as their final answer? I'm pretty sure it was 162/5 sq units because the integration under the curve was 108/5 and you had to take that away from the trapezium which was 270/5.. but God knows

really? omg that's great. thank you!

Yep, don't worry about it, you'll have done fine :smile:

I did!! It was that or 21.4 😆

It was 21.6 UNDER THE CURVE ONLY, you had to take it away from 54 (area of the trapezium) to find the segmented area

It wasn't that hard if you knew the area and surface area of a cylinder.

I didn't think for a second anything on cylinders with open tops and that would come up so I didn't look over it.

I got y = -4 and x = 9 :/

I got that as well

Hopefully got 100 UMS, the cylinder question really wasn't that bad. If you didn't know the equation you could have used some common sense and seen that the circumference of a circle is 2πr and so you then times that by the height to get the surface area so it is 2πrh.

Obviously then you can do what other people have said and do 48π = 2πrh + πr^2

I bet I'll have beaten you

Anyone remember the values they got for k (for the circle question)? it's the only question I'm unsure about..

Was that the quadratic inequality question?
Original post by RhysKirkwood
I got that as well

You needed as a coordinate remember. A(9,-4)
I got k =-2, k=8.
For 7bi isn't r=4

i would say so..i'm thinking an A is probably going to be 60+/-1 out of 75 for an A which would put 100UMS at around 72/3

Damnnn, for the chord i left it as root49, it was only 2 marks do so i might not even lose one i guess

This is the right answer. No Idea how so many people got something different.

Ah thank you! But wait sorry to be a pain but was the original qn

X^2 - 3x +2
Or
X^2 + 3x +2
59-61 for an A grade? Should be below laat years 63 as it was harder
