Edexcel S3 - Spearman's Correlation Rank Coefficient - Tied Ranks

Hello, I'm finishing up Edexcel S3 and the specification says
Numerical questions involving ties will not be set. Some understanding of how to deal with ties will be expected.

What exactly do they mean by this and what sort of questions should I expect? The textbook says that the product moment correlation coefficient should be used in case of tied ranks, but is this all I need to know?

Thank you.

My understanding of that would be maybe a 1 or 2 marker at the end of a numerical question saying 'the examiner made a mistake and gave this mark when it should have been this mark, resulting in a tie.. what should be done?'.

Oooh, thank you Sean! I guess it'd just be referring to use of the PMCC then?
