You can use it for questions like this for e.g. (15 - 3 x 2)²

2015 maths edexcel paper, a question was:

Q)
x=3
work out the value of 4x²

Majority of people wouldn't able to answer this correct as they would do (4x3)² -> 12² -> 144
instead of 4x(3²) -> 4 x 9 -> 36

36 is correct not 144, pretty basic but an easy mistake
