Hello The Student Room
I am talking about the Edexcel Exam board
So if I want to acquire the 3 A levels can i Follow this pattern:
In AS:
Maths: C1, C2, M1
Further Maths: C3, C4, FP1, S1, D1
Additional Further Maths: S2, M2, S3
And In A2 I want to do:
Maths: Done?
Further Maths: FP2, S4, D2
Additional Further Maths: FP3,M3, M4

Is this correct, I can only count 17 modules but browsing through the other threads and the spec i have to do all of 18 modules ( I really don't want to do M5) So can somebody edit my selection ( if it's incorrect) I really want to keep my selection for AS the same

Thanks

AS maths consists of C1 C2 and an applied module (M1 S1 D1)
A2 maths consists of C3 C4 and an applied module (depending on what you took last year/schools choice)

AS further maths is FP1 and 2 applied modules
A2 further maths is FP2 and/or FP3 and an applied module (2 if FP3 is not taken)

AS and A2 AFM is everything thing else (1 FP module and 2 applied)

For example, I am doing C1 C2 S1 for maths and FP1 M1 D1 for fm in my AS year. (I don't do AFM).

No, that's incorrect. You have to do all 18 modules and Edexcel will put them in the optimal places for you.

You don't get to choose, the optimal combination is computed by Edexcel. You want to do AFM? Then sit all 18 modules. That's it, end of story. Nothing else.

Thank you for this answer so can I do the following:
IN AS:
Maths: C1, C2, D1
Further Maths: FP1,S1 M1,
Additional Maths: M2, S2, S3
IN A2
Maths C3, C4, D2
Further Maths FP2,FP3, S4
Additional Maths: M3, M4, M5

Here is the spec, it tells you what you can and can't do

You don't need to worry about what goes in which qualification because the board will arrange your modules to give you the best possible grade. Obvious expections to this are that C1-4 cannot be in further or add further and FP1-3, M3-5 and S3-4 cannot be in maths.
