I'm from Scotland, so different exam boards there. But from what I've read it just seems like there about 3 different exam boards, and all your exam/class names have all these extra letters in them?? I could explain Scottish exams to you if you want, although tbh it's pretty simple
I'm on the exam board CCEA for all of my exams apart from re, which is OCR. There's CCEA, OCR, EDEXCEL, AQA, WJEC, and SQA. I think that's it, tbf it's not too bad

Like I'm pretty sure all of Scotland's on SQA. Why is there so many? And say you were on 3 different exam boards fr different subjects, would those different boards each marks those exams??
I think it's because there are just so many people taking the (I)GCSEs so they need to divide them up into different sections to make it more manageable..
