Can you show how many marks each question was out of?

last one was out of 6 marks.
Lol, it seems rounding was really important for so many questions in this exam... something so basic

I thought I did pretty well in this. It was definitely easier than the Non-Calculator paper and I think I got 70 marks in total in this. I did get a bit stuck on question 22, 24, 25 and 8b but I thought the rest were very easy. A bit of a shame that there weren't any quadratic simultaneous equations though. And I put 3.7 for the trial and improvement question so I'm not sure if I got it right. But all in all, I thought I did well so bring on August 25th (aka Results Day)

how canu count the marks u got

Hi I'm going to start and unofficial markscheme so add your answers
Reps are not necessary but would be appreciated

It would be really useful if you could remember the question numbers
1. Order numbers correctly and include a key
b) 9/20=
0.45
2a. 5a*2b*3c =
30abc
b. Factorise fully 3y +6 =
3(y+2)
c. Expand x(x-3)=
x^2-3x
3.
x=9.25
4. Smallest packet was best value for money because it was cheapest per bag of crisps
5. 4 times as many red than green: There were 0.4 blue and 0.15 yellow.
0.4+0.15+4x+x=1
0.55+5x=1
5x=0.45
x=0.09
4x=0.36
Green- 0.09 Red- 0.36
6a. 20.3
b. 68.04kg
c. 2.61m
7. 3.8
8a. 4:3
b. 480 pixels
9.x= 124 degrees
10. 7.92
11.£42.29
12. x=144 degrees
13.
-2 -1 0 1 2
-1 3 1 -1 3
Draw curve
14. 3 Bars
15. No, because 7766.22 was greater than 7500 pounds
16. 128g
b.11g
17. 30.1
18. 10a^5b^4
b. y= 5p^2-x
19.11 males
20. x= 0.29 or x= -2.29
21. 29.25
22. F.d- 1.6, 3.2, 2.4, 1.8, 0.3
23.28.9
24a. -1/3x+4
b. 2x/(x+1)(x-1)
25. 80.4

Wait a sec, x^3 - 5x = 34
3.7^3 - 5(3.7) = 32.153
34 - 32.153 = 1.847
So 3.7 is 1.847 away.

3.8^3 - 5(3.8) = 35.872
35.872 - 34 = 1.872
So 3.8 is 1.872 away.

This shows 3.8 being 0.025 further away than 3.7. 3.7 is closer. These are cubed numbers so even though you could round up from 3.75, the number gap changes as the numbers get bigger, so you count just assume to round up. They only care about 1d.p. numbers, using 3.75 doesnt matter. You have to find which 1d.p. is closer, and its 3.7.

25 was 6 marks

Thanks have made the change

I think:
Q1 5marks
Q2a was 1mark
Q2b 1mark
Q2c 1mark or 2 mark?
Q3 I believe was 3 but could be 4
Q4 was 4mark
Q5 was 2mark(?)
Q6 a b and c I think were 2 each so 6?
Q7 4or5marks
Q8 a and b both equated to 4 marks?
Q13 a was 3 marks I believe b was 2 marksQ14 at least 4 marks
Q15 5marks(?)
Q16 a was 1 markb was 2 marks
Q18 a 1 markb 3marks
Q19 was 2marks(?)
Q23 4(?)
Q24 a 2 marksb was 3 marks
Q25 6marks
As you can see I am unsure about many so PLEASE correct me and fill the blanks

Does anyone know a link to the exam booklet because I can't remember which question is which
Original post by jtb135
Ignore 3.75, you're only looking at 1 d.p. The 3.75 thing is misleading, Because 3.8 is still further away than 3.7

Sorry I'm not sure how I can explain this any clearer.

Trust me that I am right I got 69 on C2 A-Level this year and I am in year 11
Does any one know the amount of marks available for each question?
Original post by bamzy123
For the last question one angle, two sides and the area are given. Can't you just workout the third side using the area and base then use cosine rule since you have three sides???

I think only the two sides and the area of the triangle were given, there were definitely no angles given

How many marks were the:

Stem & Leaf (1)
Cubic Graph (13)
Cumulative Frequency (?)
Histogram(around the 20's somewhere)
Equations (2a b and c)
Stratified Sample(19)

Stem and leaf was 5 for the first page if you included a key

Stratified sample was 3 marks and the histogram was 4 marks I think

3.7^3 - 5(3.7) = 32.153
34 - 32.153 = 1.847

35.872 - 34 = 1.872

3.7 is too small
3.8 is too large
3.75 is too small (about 3.98)

So 3.75<x<3.8
So to 1dp x=3.8

how canu count the marks u got

I just went through the paper again in the last few minutes and counted the marks I think have more than half the chance of being right. The total marks I believe I got were about 60 - 70 but I could be wrong or right...

You're completely wrong, it's 3.8

Well thats rather harsh
Original post by Iqs.x
You're meant to round it up I think

I come bearing gifts for the stratified sampling question! You could do 10 OR 11.

I checked and over the years they allow both.
Which was question 16, can anybody remember?
