From the blogs mentioned, I have decided to go with Casio (because I have always been a fan of their calculators over Texas's): https://education.casio.co.uk/calculator/cg50/ https://www.casio.co.uk/calculators/education/fx-991ex I recommend both, because the FX-991EX is a lot easier to use, especially if you want to do a quick calculation. However, the CG50 provides graphic functions that the FX-991EX doesn't have. I would also recommend getting the calculators new because second hand ones might not work (long story).
Unfortunately, I cannot confirm whether FX-991CW is approved for A Level Maths or whether it's a good calculator.
I am a year 13 mathematics student who currently uses the fx-991EX (the predecessor). I would strongly recommend getting the EX compared to the new CW. Maths teachers at my school do not recommend the CW and advise the EX too.
To name a few problems, the CW is:
•
More complex to perform the instructions you will be doing regularly.
•
Lacking in useful functions.
•
"A cash-grab" - my Maths teacher!
If you're looking into Further Maths try to get the CG50 at a discounted rate, you can do it with just the EX but the CG is incredibly convenient.
