I really need help on this question explain why the relative atomic masses of some elemnts are not exact whole numbers

Not really. Keyword is atomic.

Relative isotopic refers to......"of one isotope"

Atomic refers to "average mass".....

The only isotope with an integer relative isotopic mass is 12C.

I do stand corrected. Apology indeed. We usually simplify things in school to make it slightly more convenient for most students to get the difference especially when doing those differences question.😊
