Why doesn't Kung-fu respect Karate?
It has almost been 6 years since I started Karate. I was talking to my classmate the other day and she said that her "master" said that Karate is all about strength and the "strongest/biggest man wins". I was a little offended by this, but it got me thinking why he would ever believe something like that. Does anyone have any ideas/opinions?

Your being offended is a tad over the top. One person's opinion does not equal Kung Fu dissing Karate.
I think Karate has an image problem created by load of US karate fans and Karate films where the karate dude is always a tall muscular American built like a brick sh*thouse smashing loads of concrete slabs with a punch or a chop. Also lots of US Karate practitioners are big muscular blokes. It's not a complete lie though, some moves in Karate does require strength to pull off. In Japan, female cops are trained in Aikido, which works better for the female body, than Karate.
Other martial arts have a different image. Wing Chun or other Chinese martial arts - everyone doing it look slim, flexible and athletic. Muay Thai image is a short thin muscular bloke who's fast and deadly with his punches and kicks.
