a level further maths module combinations (old spec AQA)

hey everyone! i just had a quick question about the arrangement of further maths modules for a level further maths (AQA) that i've been wondering about since my exams ended

these are 3 documents which i've looked at, which all say pretty much the same thing in terms of gaining a* in further maths? (the 3rd one is a bit more detailed)

http://filestore.aqa.org.uk/subjects/AQA-6360-6370-W-TRB-ASTAR.PDF

http://store.aqa.org.uk/admin/results-days/AQA-QUICK-GUIDE-GCE-A-STAR.PDF

http://furthermaths.org.uk/docs/Aggregation%20rules%20for%20HEIs%20~%20Version%203%20January%202013.pdf

i think they say that to get a* in fm you need to average 90 across your 3 best A2 modules. basically, i was wondering whether at least 1 of these 3 A2 modules has to be an A2 further pure module (e.g. FP2), or whether all 3 of them can be applied modules (e.g. S2, M2, M3)? none of the documents really make it clear (i think?), just curious really

cheers!

480 ums that includes 270 ums from your best 3 A2 results, it doesn't say one of those 3 has to be an FP unit because it doesn't.

i actually emailed AQA about this and they told me they just look at your three best A2 modules and use that for determining whether you get an A* or not (270 over 3 A2 modules with 480 overall!!).

S2, M2, M3 is a valid combination (I think those will be my best 3 A2 modules too!)

ohh ok, thank you!

i wasn't too sure because i thought, 'surely my teacher would've mentioned this to reassure us when we were panicking about how badly FP2 will go?', and she never did, so I assumed a FP module had to count, but i guess not! that's a relief, hopefully i didn't mess up M3 or S2 too much haha
