1a) 63
1b) 5+2root 6
2) 32-4c, c=5 so sum of first 4 terms= 140
3) proof that the curve and line dont intersect- b^2-4ac<0, cant square root a negative value(-7)
4)intergration- c= 8/9
5)diferentiation question when d^2y/dx^2 = 9, value was 44 i think?
6)equation of line gradient was -3/2??, lenght was root 13 t=7/4, and i got something dumb for the area
7) arithmentic series q- 400,8000, d=12, 17th year for jack- 208
8) graph intersection question where gradient is eqaul/ parallel idk point b- (3,9), point c- (-3,1)
9) graph q pretty straight forward, had to remeber to add in y and x intercepts
k=-4, a was 1

Cant remember one of the qs lol

Q2 or 3 - inequalities question the one with -1/2 in it
Differentiation question being 44? I don't even remember what I put but I don't think I got that
:s-smilie:
Yeah I don't remember 44 either...

I think it was the d^2y/dx^2 the last part it was like -1 +45 = 44
Oh yeah I did get that nvm 😂😂

omg yes thats the one i forgot! i think it was like as the final eqaulity -1/2<x<1/3 ?
Are we 100% sure t=7/4 because I got that but for AC to equal BC i thought it had to be between 3 and 5
are you sure about q8? Because I got x = +-9 and a fraction for y? And it all worked out? and how did you work out t? For some reason I got 4/7 but it took me ages getting there lol

Does anyone remember how many marks question 3 was? Instead of using b^2-4ac I equated the equations

With q8, I believe dy/dx was -12x^-2. The grad on the line was 3/4, but you have to find it’s normal, which is -4/3. Equating that to the gradient function gave you +\- 3 for x.
@ColtonH5364

So A was (5,8) and B was (3,11) and AC=BC and the point C is (t,8) so:
5-t = (square root) (11-8)(squared) + (3-t)(squared)
5-t = (square root) (9)+(9-6t+t(squared))
5-t = (square root) (18 - 6t + t(squared))
(5-t)(squared) = (18 -6t + t(squared))
(25- 10t +t(squared)) = (18 -6t + t(squared))
Therefore 25-18 = -6t + 10t
So 7 = 4t
t= 7/4

If you want to add the mark distribution to this:

Q1 - 1, 4

Q2 - 3, 2, 1

Q3 - 4

Q4 - 1, 6

Q5 - 2, 4, 1

Q6 - 8

Q7 - 4, 2, 3, 2

Q8 - 2, 2, 5

Q9 - 5, 5

Q10 - 6, 2

wait wasn't 1b) 5-2root6? any idea on the boundaries?
erm 68 for an A i would say very easy paper in my humble opinion, which is very upsetting considering last year and all
was 1b) 5-2root6 or 5+2root6?
