It's not that bad!

Spoiler

Hmm
That wasn't too bad.

It's when you hear them on the news, next to some perfectly spoken newsreader. They always get the retarded inbred farmers :sigh:

I hate my Sussex accent now I live in Nottingham. I feel utterly conspicuous. And it was so average down south. :s-smilie: Blending in is so much better

You haven't visited Yorkshire,
we sound like inbred, retarded farmers

Can I just say I quite like Yorkshire accents?

Your remark has made me feel like a freak. :getmecoat:

I want an English accent. Not a scummy one though.

My accent's just boring. :sadnod:

Scottish accents are even better. :coma:
Why thank you :perv:
Anon Person
Well, you are from Dundee.

I hear Dundee's infested with Neds and that they had to border up the whole city - It was on Reporting Scotland with Jackie Bird.

I don't have a Dundonian accent, thank ****. I grew up near Ben Nevis, so my accent is very plain.

I hear your mum's pretty good in the sack? It was all over youporn.
Anon Person
I was only joking...

Me too. :console:
Your mum's actually *****.

It's the strong ones that get on my nerves,

It does my head in

I'm not even that well spoken... just I stick out relatively.

One person yesterday: I met someone like you the other day!
Me: What do you mean by that?
They said: Y'know, a posh chick. :yep:
Me:

American accents rock, trust me
My home counties English accent is awesome. Scottish accents are awesome, as are some Welsh. But apart from that, British accents can be pretty awful.

I've never had that much access to extreme ones, but I like them in general - really down-to-earth and welcoming.

It's also one of my arsenal of accents I can do - had to perform the Four Yorkshiremen sketch at the theatre once, and I have been complimented on its quality ever since.

only decent british accents are southern ones.
northern accents are disgusting i think! no offense to your northerners! and us midland folk have pretty scummy accents too but say some words in a well cool way like 'book' and 'my' or it might just be me.

For me what's annoying about the midlands accent isn't the way you pronounce the words, more like the intonation, it's all over the place. I was on the bus today with some people talking in extremely strong Brummie accents, and every sentence hurt like anal rape. Why do they go up at the end? Sorry, Brummies. :frown:

You can tell things are bad when I sound "posh" to them with my London accent...
haha! thanks - i'm in canada on study abroad at the moment, and i'm always getting the "OMG ARE YOU FROM ENGLAND!!" does not get old!

I have no idea what the Bulgarian accent sounds like, but it can't be any worse than some English ones. I'm personally from Sussex, so I have the average Southern lilt. I imagine this is what you meant by "hot", but I hate it, it's so indistinct; I could be from anywhere, really.

:coma: I find German accents oddly attractive.

I like Yorkshire accents.

I guess it's just me that doesn't

My accent's German.

I like a German accent but that's largely because it's my favourite foreign language and it's nostalgic for me although I've only been twice
I often get comments from people telling me I'm very well-spoken  It's nice, because at school in the past, I've been told I just sound "posh", which I find hilarious because that's definitely not true. I just come from an area close to an RAF camp so there's no distinct accent, really.
Then again, people in England always tell me that they can hear the Welsh in me.

My dad's Mancunian so I spend a lot of time up there, I love the accent  I like most Northern accents, really. Except perhaps for Scouser or Geordie accents!
