Salon! Don't trust myself to do my hair. Also I have incredibly thick, long hair so I would probably have spent loads on dye as well. Plus I got a groupon :biggrin:

I think the highlights in the first two pics look very distinct from the surrounding hair colour, and they look like a wig for some reason.
So yeah, more subtle.

Yeah, mine is down to my waist so I'd probably need a fair few boxes. Thinking of cutting it before dying though :borat:

It depends on the person, but if it's like blue, pink, purple etc... it can make them look a little bit childish.

I just got it done in a place in Notting hill, not too bad would have been expensive without my groupon. I usually get my hair cut in the expensive salons by their trainees. They also dye hair too if you're not stuck by time contraints as usually its longer and during the week. However they do a really good job because the fancy owners are kicking about.

I would assume highlighting your own hair would be much more difficult than just dying as you would have to do the foils and such.
