Back from the USA college expo in London, I got a few tidbits of information here and there, but I couldn't think of many questions to ask the uni's at the stalls! Plus the guy at the Stanford stall was a complete douche.

Really? Stanford is my favourite school as well, hopefully he's the exception and not the norm. I'm guessing you're applying to American Universities as well? Do you have any in mind?

I'm going to next year's college day, hopefully. How did you find it? Did you talk to any universities in particular?

I have got myself in a right mess TSR and I hope you can help me.I am really struggling with Further Maths and if I continue to struggle neither Maths or Physics would be a good idea because Physics also includes Mechanics, which I find rock solid. What do I do?I was thinking of a specialist physics related degree maybe on particles and related things or geophysics but not many universities offer these degrees and what I would really want to do is Pure Maths but hardly any universities offer that.

What aspects of Further Maths are you struggling with?
Bear in mind that Economics A-level is nothing like Economics at university, there's almost as much (maybe even more) Math in the degree as there is in the Comp Sci degree! I'm leaning more towards Economics instead of Electrical Engineering/Comp Sci, though if I get into an American university I'll do both.

Are you still trying for internships next year? If you are, could you please PM/Facebook me about them. I assume you are not applying for the 6 week residential Wharton summer program, are you?
Any time religion is EVER brought up in my class, people immediately look to see my reaction, as though my head will somehow boil at the mention of it :colonhash:

I'm probably just misinterpreting, but it seems like everybody seems to know the details of their courses (we've not looked at Mechanics, only Statistics :shakecane:). It worries me, probably unnecessarily
Anybody applying to the Nuffield Foundation for research placements next year? :holmes:
No way Mechanics rocks! Best part of A Level Maths in my opinion

Mechanics.I really really like Pure Maths but its not offered in many places.I have been tackling substituting y=vx to solve differential equations today for example in a STEP paper.

:awesome: :five: I'm really excited to do it.

It brings about a problem for me in that it means I won't be able to go back to Australia to visit my family in the summer holidays, but I think they understand

 I do Psychology also if that's more up your alley :colone:

Haha aye I do psychology too! What exam board are you on? I haven't found a single person on my exam board yet :cry2:

I did some induction tests in each of my subjects (apart from German because there isn't one).

Maths: E
Sociology: C
Psychology: B (but my teacher reckons I would have got an A if I actually finished :colondollar:)

Not looking good at the moment.. Especially Maths. -.-

There was two halves to the test.. Aced the first half, and only got 1 mark on the second half... Luckily I didn't get kicked off the course... I got the 3rd lowest in my class though.

Anyway; Have any of you guys managed to balance your work and social life/other activities/etc yet? Because I'm really struggling... I'm doing so much work - which I don't mind doing - but I'm just so tired on weekends, and I don't want to do anything at all...

I rushed a psychology homework (I got 2/8 marks) and I got put on subject report :nooo:
Apparently it's called 'catching it early' so that I don't end up with a U at the end of the year. It was ONE question:facepalm:

My report 'aims'
- To complete work to the best of my ability
- To participate more in class (I'm on report because I'm quiet. Wat)

That sounds moronic :colonhash: I got 3/8 on a psychology quiz and we identified where I went wrong, then said nothing more about it

Is there anyone who has signed up (or has already done) the medlink course at Nottingham Uni?
I'm not sure if I should go or not. Is it worth it for the price it costs?

How fortunate of you to have a good teacher, some of us aren't that lucky:cry: Another one on AQA, I feel like such an outcast on WJEC.

Does anyone here want to have some power temporarily and hold a vote for us in the year eleven thread?
