P4 -easy but confusing; strictest of strictest values of x

guys the solustiosn for a eqaution gives

x>7.75
x<-2
-1<x<5

and

x>5
-2<x<0.6

i cant for the life of me figure out how the strictest of the combination of the solutions give -1<x<0.6 and x>7.75!!!!

erm i hate to say but taht what the mark scheme says: again

the combinations are

-1<x<0.6 and x>7.75.

if ya are confused then welll....... the amrk scheme must be wrong!!!and that is OCR Markscheme! lol

the blue are for the first part, the red are for the second part, the place there there are BOTH blue and red is what they want. which is -1<x<0.6 and x>7.75
