Can't see a problem here. Nobody is forced to fly on commercial airliners.

I would rather have neither and not sure how this will help prevent a 30000 feet explosion. Luckily it isn't compulsory and is only being used to save time.

So it should really be a question of would you rather someone see a monochromatic scan of your body, or spend 10 minutes extra in an airport?

If I were the security guard monitoring the system, I think the amount of 'package' jokes made by every single person going through for months on end would eventually cause me to blow up a plane myself out of annoyance.

no you can't which is good. I wouldn't be too bothered, I'd go in it and strike a pose. But I think it's fair enough if people don't want to use it and to keep it optional.

Besides, hasn't Heathrow had these full body scanners for years, shortly after 2001? They have had them for ages as I went through one when going trans-atlantic through T4.

Having people just get naked and then search through all their clothes would increase security even more; why dont we just do that?

Theres a limit to how far we can go in the name of 'saftey/security', and personally I think this scanner is a step too far.

On a serious note...I don't think that its crazy. No one would or should complain if they caught a terrorist.
I hate people that complain about how the government does not give the public privacy and they are the same ones complaining the government does nothing to protect them!!

Joy, another one of those 'if you've done nothing wrong, you've no reason to hide' people.

Do you run marathons? No? Well, you can jog on. I hate people that smile and nod as the government slowly intrudes further into our lives under the pretence of 'security'. They will suffer just as much as the people complaining, yet they appear to be grossly ignorant of this fact.

There are far, far better ways to catch terrorists and protect citizens than to infringe on their privacy.

THis is a good point, how would this work with child pornography laws? Of course you could choose not to put your child through this machine, but they still have to cinsider the eventuality that it could happen.
