Oh come on; how can anyone not have realised this was a parody? It's so obviously an ironic take off off of cheesy cringy high school musical-esque stuff - you're not meant to take it seriously!

At the same time, while being quite funny (though the joke admittedly wears off after a while), it's also quite an informative admissions video.

So yes, it is 'real' in the sense that it was genuinely made by Yale students for admissions info, but it's simultaneously a joke; quite obviously intentionally comical, not meant to be taken a face value.
