Proof by Induction

I am aware that this proof by induction is fairly easy but I just want to make sure I have it right.

Question
We can see that initially the population was 5, when the time has reached 1, we can see that the population has doubled to 10. This can be expressed by an equation:
N(1)=2N(0)

What if this trend was to continue like this? Then we can change the equation to something more appropriate such as:
N(i+1)=2N(i)

If the above is the case we should be able to write the equation in the form:
N(i)=5 (2^i)
Show that it is the case for all integers i.

Answer?
If you can reply with the actual full answer that would be more helpful but what I got at the end was N(i+1)=2(5*(I^2)) which to me meant it was proved.
