best WAY is interpreting MEAN (like Likert Scale)

I have a problem as well in interpreting the mean score from an ordinal variable (or better to use median some are saying it is better, why?)

Is there also a standard way of interpreting the MEAN SCORE?

Below are the grand mean scores but i have a category only or scale of 1, 2,4 and 5 (Likert scale) The mean score fally between 4-5. So, how can I interpret now those means scores then? Even median score will NOT give me a whole number.

Conceptual Skills : 3.51
Interpersonal Skills : 3.47
Communication Skills: 3.31
Technical Skills: 3.42

I will glad and appreciate your great help to this small problem of mine.
